Move out thoughtfully. Keep useful things moving.
Davis residents have local waste-reduction resources, and the city promotes reuse during move-outs. Dump Ninja’s Davis work includes rental turnover and university move-outs. We help make the handoff practical while considering usable furniture and working appliances for another life. Local resource.
For renters and students, tell us your move-out deadline, the items left behind and the building’s loading arrangements. Confirm the appointment before relying on the pickup. For landlords and managers, identify what belongs to the property and what is authorized for removal; ask about before-and-after photos for your file. Generosity means assessing suitable items for reuse. Landfill diversion means separating appropriate recycling, not promising that every item can avoid disposal.
Junk removal in Davis: what we take
Davis pickup needs range from a student move-out to a family garage cleanout. We plan around the actual property and the items you want removed. The truck comes down Highway 113 from Woodland, parks legally, and clears what you point at.
Dump Ninja takes these from Davis apartments, houses, and yards:
- Couches, futons, desks, bookshelves, and the mattress and box spring under the last tenant. No mattress surcharge.
- Mini fridges, full-size refrigerators, washers, dryers, and window air conditioners. Working ones get re-homed through Second Life Appliances.
- Bikes that are past saving, and the pile of them that builds up behind a Davis fourplex.
- Whole-apartment move-out leftovers, from the balcony chairs to the shower caddy.
- Garage contents in Mace Ranch and North Davis: boxes, camping gear, a broken treadmill, the kids’ old play structure.
- Hot tubs and sheds in South Davis and on the El Macero edge, removed and hauled.
- Yard waste, brush, dead planters, and old fencing.
- TVs, monitors, printers, and other e-waste for recycling.
- Concrete, dirt, and construction debris haul-away from a Davis side yard.
- Tires. We take tires.
- Paint, chemicals, and solvents in limited quantities. Ask us first.
Dump Ninja cannot accept asbestos, medical waste, ammunition, or wet-cell batteries in Davis or anywhere else. When you are not sure, text a photo to (530) 444-4441.
Some Davis jobs are one couch on a Tuesday. Some are a whole house in Village Homes after thirty years. Dump Ninja sends the same crew standard to both.
How it works in Davis
Dump Ninja Junk Removal runs every Davis job the same four ways, whether it is a studio behind the co-op or a five-bedroom in Stonegate.
1. Call or text (530) 444-4441. Tell us what you have, your Davis address or complex name, and whether the truck will have somewhere to sit. If it is a permit-parking block downtown, say so. If it is an apartment, send the manager’s contact. Online booking works for scheduled pickups; same-day in Davis is phone or text only.
2. We come look and name the price. The crew drives down Highway 113 from Woodland, walks the pile with you, and gives one number for the whole job. The estimate is free. There is nothing to sign and nothing to pay if the number does not work for you.
3. You say go. We load right then. A Davis couch pickup is usually done before you have finished your coffee. An apartment move-out takes about an hour with two of us on the 21-yard truck.
4. We load, sweep, and leave. The crew hauls everything out, sweeps the unit or blows off the patio, and shows you the empty space. Davis landlords get before-and-after photos for the file.
The Matmor Road commitment for Davis. Our yard is at 709 Matmor Road in Woodland, down Highway 113 from a Davis driveway. During the September and June move-out rush, Dump Ninja runs the truck to Davis daily and asks you to book a few days ahead if you can. Dump Ninja is fully insured, with commercial general liability, commercial auto, and workers comp, and a certificate of insurance is available on request for any Davis property manager or HOA.
Davis neighborhoods we work in
Davis streets were built for bicycles, and a 21-yard truck has to respect that. Dump Ninja Junk Removal has learned each part of Davis by working in it. Here is what the crew knows before it leaves Woodland.
Central Davis and downtown. The older cottages, duplexes, and small apartment buildings between the UC Davis campus and the downtown grid. Shared driveways are common, and many blocks are permit parking with time limits. The bike lanes on Third, Fifth, and the other through streets stay open; Dump Ninja parks in a driveway or a legal curb space and carries. Most Central Davis jobs are rental move-outs, so the crew keeps the load quick and tight to avoid tying up a neighbor’s space.
South Davis and the El Macero edge. Across I-80 from campus, South Davis is a mix of 1970s to 1990s single-family homes and big apartment complexes along Cowell Boulevard and Drummond Avenue. At the complexes, Dump Ninja confirms a loading spot and any elevator time with the manager first. At the houses, the driveway is usually wide enough to back into. East of there, the El Macero edge is larger lots with country-club rules, and jobs lean toward furniture, hot tubs, and full garage cleanouts.
West Davis and Village Homes. Village Homes is unlike anywhere else Dump Ninja works. The houses face shared greenbelts and paths, and the cars live on the perimeter in parking bays. That means the carry runs from your back door, along a path, to wherever the truck can legally sit. The crew plans that walk into the quote and brings hand trucks. The rest of West Davis, including Stonegate, is wider and simpler, with attached garages and space to stage.
North Davis. The 1970s and 1980s neighborhoods north of Covell Boulevard are laced with greenbelts and cul-de-sacs. Some of those cul-de-sacs are tight for a truck this size, so Dump Ninja sometimes stages on the through street and walks the last stretch. Garage cleanouts and hot tubs are the usual North Davis call.
Mace Ranch. The 1990s East Davis subdivisions have the easiest access in Davis: wider streets, attached two-car garages, and driveways the truck can back right up to. Mace Ranch jobs are family jobs, meaning garage cleanouts, play structures, and the hot tub nobody has used since the kids left for college.
The UC Davis calendar. Leases in Davis turn over around the first of September, and the campus empties again in June. Those two windows are the busiest weeks of the year for Dump Ninja in Davis. Furniture piles up at the curb, complexes need units flipped in days, and parents want a kid’s apartment emptied before the drive home. The crew runs the truck to Davis daily during both rushes. Book ahead when you can; text the day of when you cannot.
What an operator knows about Davis. Confirm the parking before anything else. Ask whether the complex needs a manager on site. Ask about stairs, because a lot of Davis apartments are second-floor walk-ups. Ask whether the side gate is wide enough for a fridge on a hand truck. Dump Ninja asks those questions on the first call so the quote is right when the truck arrives.
Where it goes: the Yolo County Central Landfill and donation first
Davis junk hauled by Dump Ninja Junk Removal goes to three places, in this order: donation, recycling, and the Yolo County Central Landfill at 44090 County Road 28H in Woodland.
Davis move-outs leave behind a surprising amount of usable furniture. Dump Ninja sets it aside for donation rather than dumping it, and one of the Google reviews on this page is from a customer whose apartment clean-out was routed to Davis Community Meals and Housing. Working appliances go through our Second Life Appliances program and are re-homed with a local family at no charge. Dump Ninja has given away 116 working appliances so far, on the way to 1,000. Appliances that do not work carry an environmental fee, and a certified recycler recovers the refrigerant.
Metal, e-waste, and cardboard get recycled. Over our lifetime, Dump Ninja kept more than 1,000 cubic yards out of the landfill across Davis, Woodland, and the rest of Yolo County.
What is left rides north on Highway 113 to the Yolo County Central Landfill, which happens to sit in Dump Ninja’s home town. A Davis customer can ask where the load went and get a straight answer.
Pet waste removal in Davis
Davis has a lot of dogs and a lot of greenbelt, and Dump Ninja Junk Removal is the only company in Yolo County that will haul your couch and scoop your yard under the same phone number.
Dump Ninja runs weekly, bi-weekly, and one-time pet waste removal for Davis backyards, plus HOA and apartment-complex dog-area service in South Davis, Mace Ranch, and anywhere a shared lawn needs it. The crew scoops, bags, hauls, and can sanitize the yard with a safe product on request. Gates get latched behind us, every visit. Call or text (530) 444-4441 and ask for the pet waste schedule.
Cleanouts in Davis
A cleanout is not a pickup with more stuff. Dump Ninja Junk Removal runs Davis cleanouts on a different tone and a different clock.
Estate cleanouts. Davis has a lot of long-tenured homeowners, and when a family clears a parent’s house in Village Homes or North Davis, the crew works at the family’s pace. Keepsakes get set aside. Usable furniture gets donated. Dump Ninja will come back over several days so the family can go room by room. We do not rush a family. We do not film anyone for marketing.
Apartment and rental turnovers. The bread and butter of Davis cleanouts. Dump Ninja empties the unit, hauls what the tenant left, sweeps, and sends the property manager before-and-after photos. During the September rush the crew can flip several Davis units in a day.
Hoarder cleanup. Dump Ninja handles hoarding situations in Davis without judgment and without an audience. The crew sorts as it goes, keeps documents and valuables for the owner, and takes as many loads as the job needs.
Eviction and foreclosure cleanouts. Fast turnaround, swept unit, photos for the file. Dump Ninja works to the timeline the landlord or the court produces.
Storage unit and garage cleanouts. Send the gate code and the unit number and Dump Ninja empties the Davis storage unit while you stay at work. Garages in Mace Ranch and West Davis get emptied, sorted for donation, and swept.
Every Davis cleanout gets the same handling: one on-site quote before anything moves, a crew in uniform, and a swept floor at the end. Dump Ninja is fully insured, and a Davis property manager or family can ask for the certificate before the truck leaves Woodland.
Nearby: the Davis run and where it connects
Davis sits at the center of Dump Ninja’s daily route. The 21-yard truck stages in Woodland, up Highway 113, which is why Davis gets same-day service when the truck has room. El Macero is the same trip with a different exit, and Dump Ninja treats it as part of the Davis day. Dixon is west on I-80 and Winters is out Russell Boulevard; both are regular Davis-adjacent stops. West Sacramento is east on I-80, and a Davis morning often turns into a West Sacramento afternoon. Vacaville is the far end of the I-80 run, and Dump Ninja gets there on scheduled days.
Every town Dump Ninja serves is on the service areas page. Three places we do not serve: Elk Grove, Roseville, and Fairfield. We say that plainly because a Davis customer who lives past those lines deserves a crew that is actually nearby.
