Decide what stays before deciding what goes
A cleanout is easier when the crew can clearly distinguish the items for removal from the things you are keeping. Use separate areas or clear labels if that helps. Point out belongings that should not move, even if they are sitting beside a removal pile.
If other people need to make decisions about the contents, settle those decisions before the pickup. Keep documents, keys, photographs and anything you are unsure about apart from the removal area. We work from the scope you approve rather than decide for you what has value.
Show us every area involved
A garage, a spare room and an outdoor storage area may be one project for you, but each has its own access route. Send a wide photo of each area when requesting an estimate, and show all of them during the site walk.
Tell us about stairs, narrow doorways, gates and the place the truck can stop. If you manage a rental or shared property, explain how we get inside and which spaces must remain accessible. Those details help us plan the carrying and loading instead of discovering them after work begins.
Leave the heavy carrying to the crew
You do not need to move furniture or appliances to the curb just to ask for an estimate. Let us see the items in place. The visit is the opportunity to agree what is being removed and how the job will work.
Avoid moving an unfamiliar container or unknown material simply to make the pile look tidy. Describe it and send a photo so we can discuss it before agreeing to take it. Check the items we take and ask about anything that is not clear.
Identify items that may have another life
Tell us which appliances still work and which furnishings are in usable condition. Keep them distinguishable from broken material where practical. Suitable items can be considered for reuse before disposal; we cannot promise that every item will be accepted for donation.
This is where generosity and landfill diversion fit into the work. Clearing your space and making something useful available again can be part of the same job. Read how working appliances can get a second life for the difference between a paid pickup and a free community giveaway.
Agree the scope and price before loading
Walk through the removal list with the crew before approving the job. Our approved on-site price is the maximum for that agreed scope. If the load occupies more space than we estimated, we honor the price. If it takes less space, we bring the price down.
If you discover additional items after the estimate, point them out before loading. Clear communication keeps the work and the price understandable. The estimate guide explains the process in more detail.
Your final preparation checklist
- Separate or label the items that stay.
- Resolve decisions about belongings before pickup.
- Show us every room, pile or storage area included in the job.
- Share entry instructions and identify the approved loading location.
- Mention working appliances and usable furnishings.
- Confirm the appointment and the person who can approve the work.
